Mode of Action and uses
Terbuthylazine is a triazine selective systemic herbicide absorbed principally through the roots, but also through the foliage, with translocation acropetally in the xylem and accumulation in the apical meristems and leaves. It is used in pre- and early post-emergence control of annual broad-leaved weeds in maize, sorghum, top fruits, citrus, grape, olive, conifers, industrial weed control.

Terbuthylazine binds to the plastoquinone-binding protein in photosystem II, inhibiting electron transport.
