Mode of Action and uses
Ametryn is a thio-triazine selective systemic herbicide absorbed principally through the roots, but also through the foliage, translocated acropetally in the xylem and accumulated in the apical meristems and leaves.
It is used for pre- and post-emergence control of most annual grasses and broad-leaved weeds mainly in sugar cane.
Ametryn binds to the plastoquinone-binding protein in photosystem II, inhibiting electron transport.
